Well well. Guess You will be hearing from me just a bit more hahahah.

I guess I really did want to say that I'm very sad with the path that humanity is headed. This was supposed to be the age of information, yet society seems to be turning more and more ignorant.

ChatGPT and AI are making everything so much worse. Students, and people n general, are relying so much on robots that they're no longer learning basic skills. Misinformation is easier than ever to spread through shitty AI pics. And everyone's just kinda fine with that. They're being told by corporations to be fine with it.

The age of tolerance, too, yet social media is governed by vitriol. Just the other day I saw a tweet making fun of the death of one person's mother; it had amassed 100k+ likes. Just... where the fuck are we headed? Why have we come to this? How are we devolving into these heartless, rampaging monsters?

To quote Hayao Miyazaki "I fear we are nearing to the end of times. We humans are losing faith in ourselves." And if that's so, then so be it. In these times of turmoil and uncertainty it's more important than ever to keep the things that matter close to us. And it's why I'll be forever grateful that places such as Newgrounds still exist; one of the very last bastions of passion, creativity and community. There will never be a site like this one again, ever. And it fills me with hope that there's still a place in this rotten digital world where I can actually feel happy, and discover wonderful things and people much like I did when I was young.

So, thanks for being here. And thanks for reading up till this point, for anyone that did. That's all, back to work! Hope to at least be able to work on something for a certain collab I'll be part of soon.

Why hello there. Don't think I'm dead just yet!

How have you all been? Well and good I hope? As for myself I haven't had the energy to do much beyond silly sketches, not really stuff fit for Newgrounds... well, up until a week and a half ago, where I lost the time for even that.

Not much to say, I really have been busy as shit. It's the good kind of busy however! Working, helping out my family and whatnot. Life's good, but quite packed. And it will be for the rest of the year, most likely, but especially from this month onward all the way till August. So... you won't hear from me for a hot minute. Sorry about that!

I do have one last animation I've been working on, however, which I've been chipping away at veeeeeeeery slowly. It's something quite simple really, so here's hoping I can get that done before things SERIOUSLY ramp up.

Anyway enough about me. Got anything to share? Any cool shows or vidyas y'all have indulged in recently? I'm very much open to recommendations.

THIS MONTH'S MUSIC RECOMMENDATION!!!!!!!!!!!! Robert Miles - Children [Dream Version]

Hello hello, how have you all been? Anything interesting going on in your lives? I've been fine enough, ish. Something rather unfortunate happened a week ago, but things have been fine since then. I'm working on more stuff as usual, I hope you all look forward to it.

I've decided to write something different this time around - game reviews! Do tell me if you're interested in something like this from me! Anyway, this time I'm reviewing Metal Unit.

GENRE: Rougelite, Action RPG

I can't lie, I bought this game cause of the cute female protagonist and the cool mechs, haha! I'm not really into rougelikes, but I thought I'd give it a try as it was on sale. TL;DR: Get it on sale only. Now on to the actual review.

THE GOOD: The combat is quite fun! Combos feel satisfying and there's actually a lot of weapons that are either drops or craftables, and many have a lot of flair. Traversing through the levels is interesting as there are a lot of hidden sub-levels and secret rooms that can give you extra loot. Really scratches that exploration itch. The boss fights were pretty decent as well. You can regain lost gear if you have enough mastery points on it, so that's a nice failsafe. And on a VERY personal note, I enjoyed the obvious aesthetic and thematic inspirations from Evangelion.

THE BAD: The story is really bad - it starts off with an interesting premise, but on the 4th chapter everything starts suddenly going at x10 speed and then it... stops, and no character gets a satisfying conclusion. This is also reflected in the game content itself - there are are only three real levels in the game (each with a sub-area), the final fourth one being a very underwhelming boss rush where you face off with some random monsters, then the final 'twist villain' boss that was honestly rather easy.

The level design is also very, VERY bland, and since you have to traverse through each level over and over again by virtue of it being a rougelite, every level gets extra stale extra quickly. And you WILL repeat levels a lot, as many enemies deal a shit ton of damage - and the insane amounts of visual clutter make it hard to discern what EXACTLY is hitting you. Also, out of the three sub-areas in the game, two of them have absolutely insufferable bosses. Since you get nothing of value out of defeating them and you lose your gear on death, I just gave up on them.

CONCLUSION: I can't help but feel this would've been better as a platformer or Metroidvania. This is EXACTLY the type of game that has made me shy away from Rougelites. All the repetition and trial-and-error feels like heavy padding, and breaking through roadblocks did not feel like a rewarding experience but a tedious one. As such, I was more relieved than satisfied when I was finally done with it.

This game clearly has about 20+ hours worth optional, endgame content, but a lot of the reviews on Steam clocked in at 13-15 hours. My playtime is at 14 hrs. and I have ZERO desire to go back for even a single hour. Again, I recommend you only get it on a sale and you're a diehard rougelike/lite fan, and if you don't have any other games on your backlog you might wanna try out.

Wow, talk about a way to start my day! As per usual for my morning routine, I thought I'd check out Newgrounds for a bit. Imagine my surprise when I saw my fucking artwork on full display right at the top! LIKE HOLY SHIT I jumped out of my seat.

Thank you everyone. I fucking love Newgrounds. In my opinion, it's one of the last few remaining corners of the internet that truly values art, community and... I dunno. I don't know exactly how to say it, but this place feels... human. It's beautiful. So many incredible projects have had, and keep, having its roots in this place and its people, and it's so very inspiring to me.

Last but not least, thank you to everyone who has taken an interest to my art, be it from the Pixel Day announcement alone, from my very first post on this site, or somewhere in-between. I truly do feel welcome here, and am looking forward to sharing more of my art until I either die or my hands explode (in which case I guess I'll go on a brief hiatus to learn how to draw with my mouth, LOL).

Helloooooooo everyone, I guess I'm a bit late for this but Happy New Years!

We're only on January so far and so many weird things have happened already. Things look really shitty for the internet, AI is an ever-growing threat for the web as we know it, and the world overall is in such big turmoil... Shit sucks, so I'll be focusing on doing things that I like and improving as a person. Focus on the things you can actually control everyone!

That aside I've been playing Neptunia: Sisters vs Sisters lately. Boy that game is NOT good! I tried to like it super badly but the combat sucks so much and feels super janky. But I'll still complete it cause I love Neptunia that much. I've also been watching Dragon Ball Daima! Now that is a good goddamn anime, such a breath of fresh air compared to Super.

As for myself, I've been focusing my efforts on more original stuff. I've had three very very pretty girls for OCs for almost a decade and I've barely done anything with them, so methinks it is time to change that. Then again, It's been mostly sketches so far, so I haven't thought of posting them here. I guess I will, just not in the art portal.

Hello hello, how have you all been?

Life's been busy as usual on my end! I haven't had much time to work on illustrations; I actually rushed that one Fire Sonic piece for the collab in like three hours! I am by no means that fast usually, however, I just have Sonic haxx because I drew him nonstop when I was little, haha!

By the end of August I hope to be able to churn out something nice and cute for you people; my head's already brimming with ideas. By the way, any recommendations for the Steam Summer Sale? Whatchall getting?

Hello hello, how has January been for you all? For me, it's been kind of a pain, haha! I've been kinda busy with real life stuff, and what free time I have I've used it to play some vidya james, so you won't be seeing stuff from me for a while. But fret not, hopefully by early February I'll be free to get back on the art grind!

By the way, have any of you played CODE VEIN? I nabbed it during the Steam Winter Sale and boy have I been having a blast. Never thought I'd say that about a Soulslike, as I've always been kind of afraid of the genre, but this one's pretty good! You betcha I'll be drawing my character at one point, the customization there is insane.

That's right, my entry's in. Man what a rush!

This was so fun and it was actually pretty hard, considering I only began doing the bulk of it just barely less than a month ago... but I'm really happy and proud of the results and I told the story I wanted to tell, from beginning to end. Hope you all like it!
